A Big Thank You!

I spend a lot of time (ask Tia) on the computer, but mostly reading other families journeys. My computer here at home is very slow, so I haven't put the time on my blog that it needed.

Someone asked today if they could help me out. You don't usually get something for nothing. And I have alot of nothing right now (as we adoptive families know all too well). I think I have a really great looking blog now and it is with Great Thanks to C.W. It is very much appreciated!!

I work Best under pressure

I have had this beautiful weekend and should have gotten lots done. I think I am saving everything for the last minute??

Tia has cleaned out the clothes that no longer fit and they are in boxes right outside her door in the hall. It looks terrible, but Tara will be home in a month and will need to go through them to see what she can wear and wants.

We had told Tia we would take her to the movie "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". It wasn't as good as the first, but still very enjoyable. Before that we stopped by to visit Chantelle who was having her graduation party. (how time flys)

Rain here is almost a daily occurance. It is not this weekend, so we are off to get Tara's bed. Tia needs to clean her clothes off the floor so there is a place to put it. Well this wasn't to be. DH thought it was too nice to be on the road. It would have easily killed 3 hours. He ended up mowing around our pond. And getting in trouble. He took Tia on the four wheeler, when they tried to climb a ditch he ended up rolling it. It ended up knocking the wind out of Tia and scaring the crap out of both of them.

Just received a call from my sister. Our nephew Joel and wife Nicci just delivered twin boys. Nicci has spent the last week in the hospital trying to give the boys a little more time. They had taken Nicci off her meds to stop contractions and we knew it could be anytime. The boys were not in a good delivery position, so they were planning on C-section. Dru & Dylan. One was 5 lbs, one was 6 lbs. How great is that :) :)

TA ( Travel Approval)

Things are starting to happen now! On Thursday Myriam called to let us know she should receive our travel approval on Friday. Since we would be receiving it that meant Curt would be able to travel with us. They needed his Visa information and pictures to process his invite to China. When I finally got ahold of Curt on Friday it was too late for him to get it in the mail (he was thinking sending it regular mail, he doesn't know how long that takes). I told him to save it until Tuesday if he had too, but it would need to be overnite. Please let it make a speedy trip.

It is Memorial weekend so nothing will happen on Monday.

We have a Consulate Appointment for June 23rd. With a tentative leave date of June 10th. All of this will be happening in 2 weeks. Yikes!

The Animals

We have a six toed cat named Zoey. I would have loved to let her have a litter of kittens, but I wanted to find another 6 toed tom. It didn't happen and it was time to make Zoey an it. Sorry Zoey, Gene took her to the vet where she spent 3 days. She now has a shaved belly and 3 stiches.

We also have a new batch of chickens. While they are small and cute, we keep them in a small area with a light on them to keep them warm. During a storm the electric went out and Mom worried they would get cold and pile up. Which means one usually gets smothered and dies. But they did fine. Most of them are Grama Snyders, we will bring 10 to our house. Tia and I both like eggs for breakfast.

LOA

I received a call from Mryiam on Wed April 30. I had written her a couple of emails asking questions and she called me to answer the questions. We usually correspond by email, so was a little surprised with the call. At the end of the call she said she was expecting a pkt from China on Friday, not to get my hopes up, but she was hoping my letter of acceptance would be in it with some travel approvals.
It was month end and I always have a full day of work. It is a little hard to concentrate when you are filled with anticipation.
Thursday I got as much done on my desk as possible before lunch and headed to Curves for some exercise. When I returned the phones were ringing off the hook, I answered one and had a call waiting. I love caller ID the word Faith was on the phone, my heart skipped a beat. Mryiam had good news she had received a packet and all it had in it was our letter of acceptance, she would overnite it and I should sign it and get it back into the mail quickly for TA. Yippeeee!!
It's Friday and I warn the guys I get the DHL person when they arrive. I explain why and let them know I would like a picture for posterity. DHL usually arrives at 10 and it was hard not to watch the door. It was 10:45 when he finally arrived, he asked for my signature and I told him not until I was ready. I ripped open the envelope, signed what needed signing and added our passports to the return envelope and gave it back to Mr DHL man and then signed for my pkg. Faith should have it on Monday May 5th. Thanks Eric for the pics!

DTC (Dossier to China) @ LID (Log in Date)

So many acronyms. We are finally DTC, Mryiam let me know that the Dossier (our life story) was sent to China by DHL. This made me a little nervous. We have used DHL in our office. A simple package to go across state ended up several states away.

I finally contacted Myriam for a LID, she was happy to say it was 2/15. I never ask why it took 15 days. Just very glad it is there and waiting it's turn to be studied. I should add the Chinese New Year was 2/7.
